Canada’s Start-up Visa (SUV) Program is intended to attract immigrant entrepreneurs who wish to establish new, high-growth businesses in Canada

To be eligible for the Start-Up VISA program, entrepreneurs must be accepted into an incubator program offered by a designated Canadian business incubator or accelerator.

The application process has two phases:

  1. Applicant(s) apply to a designated incubator to obtain a letter of support. The incubator evaluates the application and the business to determine if it meets the eligibility criteria and is applicable for support.
  2. Once a letter of support is issued by the incubator, the applicant(s) apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) under the Startup Business stream for issuance of their Permanent Residency.
