Bob Carbone

Advisory Board Member


Bob is an experienced process and application specialist. Over his 30 year career he has worked forlarge multi-national organizations and small privately held businesses.  His experience in implementingand supporting numerous payroll, HRIS and Time & Attendance systems has afforded himthe opportunity to work with many Fortune 500 companies.  

Worklinks initially opened its doors in LaunchPad’s Summerside location in Sept 2008.  As TechnologyManager Bob was tasked with leading the design of a new Payroll platform for the Canadian market andrunning the Summerside operation. Worklinks’ Software as a Service (SaaS) system went live in 2012 and the team continues to change how payroll is processed.

Deirdre Beep Ayre

Advisory Board Member


Deirdre has 25 years experience in the entertainment industry in areas such as production, public relations, marketing and sales. She has also held positions in the area of business development with Newfoundland and Labrador’s Tourism Association, Industry Canada and the Y Enterprise Centre. In 2006 Deirdre took her place as Studio Head for Other Ocean Interactive after conducting the due diligence and spearheading the establishment of its Prince Edward Island studio (sold to EA Mobile in 2013). She oversaw the establishment of Other Ocean’s quality assurance and testing company, Sculpin QA, in 2007, and the establishment of Other Ocean’s second development studio in St John’s, NL, in 2008. She is responsible for all aspects of Canadian operations for the two companies. She has recruited talent to Atlantic Canada from around the world including, but not limited to, China, Indonesia, Brazil, and the UK. Deirdre is a graduate of Ryerson University with a degree in Radio and Television.

Stuart Duncan

Advisory Board Member


Stuart is a seasoned mobile games executive and the founder of premier free to play game studio, Bight Games. As CEO of Bight Games, Stuart utilized his decade long experience in advanced multimedia production to oversee operations for one of the industry’s most innovative mobile game developers.

Under his direction Bight achieved early success in the emerging mobile free to play game category with Trade Nations. An original IP, Trade Nations occupied the top grossing games charts for over a year. Subsequently Bight conceived, developed and produced the mega hit “The Simpsons: Tapped Out” for EA. “The Simpsons: Tapped Out” eclipsed $100 million in life-to-date digital net revenue, and has been in the top 20 grossing iPhone games in the U.S. for all but twelve days since launching in August 2012. Stuart led Bight Games through the M&A process in 2011 and secured a successful sale to Electronic Arts. Stuart continues to be active in the mobile games industry. After an enjoyable (contractually obliged) time off following Bight’s acquisition by EA, Stuart is back, having recently founded icejam to work on the next big idea in mobile games.

Mark Healy

Advisory Board Member


Mark Healy is a Toronto-based marketing and professional services veteran. He is the President of MHC Group, a professional marketing consultancy – and he also holds a number of other positions including Executive Director of Executive Education at Ivey Business School in London and Toronto, Brand & Marketing Advisor at The Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, and Corporate Director at ScreenScape Networks in Charlottetown.

Mark has over 15 years of sales and marketing experience, working with global companies, smaller privately-held firms and governments. He is well connected and networked in the Canadian business community, and a frequently media contributor and guest speaker. Mark’s areas of expertise include branding/ rebranding, marketing strategy and planning, research design, marketing execution, lead generation/ corporate match-making, and sales management. He has extensive experience working internationally, and has worked across every many significant verticals and sectors, with deeper pools of expertise in: IT/ Technology, Financial Services, Consumer Brands and Economic Development. Mark is an alum of both Ivey Business School and Queen’s Chemical Engineer program.

John Eden

Advisory Board Member


John Eden is the CEO of Discovery Garden, a software based company that assists large organizations around the world with managing, sharing, securing and archiving their important digital content. Since joining the company in 2011, it has grown to service clients such as the New York Historical Society, National Baseball Hall of Fame, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Berkeley College.

Prior to joining Discovery Garden. John was Senior Investment Officer for business attraction in the IT sector, with Innovation PEI, a Crown Corporation within the Prince Edward Island Government. Among his achievements was spearheading efforts to develop a video game development sector in PEI, and later leading the creation of a new video game testing company in the Province.

John also has experience with mobile technologies and e-health.
